Carlyle House Historic Park Wedding

Elegant Carlyle House Wedding. Kara + Steven

Kara and Steven’s Carlyle House wedding had a quiet charm that fit them perfectly. Right in the middle of Old Town Alexandria, their Carlyle House wedding felt personal, relaxed, and full of character. The venue itself is understated but full of texture, making it a favorite spot for couples who don’t want anything too overdone.

The ceremony took place behind the house, right by the garden. With the historic stone walls and garden views all around, their Carlyle House wedding setting didn’t need a lot of decoration. A few chairs, a small arch, and the calm energy of the space made everything feel natural.

After the vows, guests enjoyed drinks and conversation on the lawn. We wandered with Kara and Steven through the grounds and surrounding streets for some laid-back portraits. One thing about a Carlyle House wedding is you don’t have to go far for great photo spots—brick paths, iron gates, and soft light are all right there.

Dinner followed nearby, simple and unfussy. It wasn’t about making a statement—it was about being together, sharing a meal, and keeping the mood easy. That’s what a good Carlyle House wedding allows: room to breathe, to focus on what matters, and to enjoy the people around you.

Kara and Steven chose a Carlyle House wedding because it fit them—and that’s exactly what made it feel right.
