As a Virginia wedding photographer, I happen to photograph in Alexandria a lot of wedding and engagement session.
When I think about my favorite locations to shoot, it’s rare that I think of a place with as much character as Old Town, Alexandria. The cobble stone streets, the historic storefronts, and the beautiful brick buildings all come together to make this city one of the most romantic places for wedding and engagement photography.
That is why I was so excited when Sam Mariyam reached to me to photograph their small ceremony in the heart of Alexandria.
They did not have time to plan a big wedding, as just a few weeks earlier, Sam had found out that his work required him to relocate to the opposite side of the globe, and they decided to tie the knot in Sam’s parent’s house surrounded just by close family and friends.
There were a lot of emotions at this small intimate ceremony, but the most prominent ones were joy and love.
After the ceremony we went to waterfront, to catch the last rays of sun. It was cold outside on that day, but Sam and Maryam were full of love that we were able to create unforgettable sunset pictures right before the sun disappeared behind the horizon.
